D3 Artworks, in partnership with the Cambridge Sports Hall of Fame and the City of Cambridge, is excited to announce the launch of Century of Creativity: Galt Arena Gardens Sports Art Project, a dynamic public art initiative designed to bring local sports history and culture to life. It will highlight local artists, athletes and sports fans, and promote community engagement through art.

The project will feature two new public art murals at Galt Arena Gardens in Cambridge, the oldest continuously-operated hockey arena in Canada. The new pieces will accompany THE FANS, one of Cambridge’s most beloved murals. THE FANS was created to recognize hockey history in our community, specifically the Galt Hornet Senior A Allan Cup victories during the '70s and '80s, and is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary.

The new murals will depict our community as colourful characters in the arena crowd, reflecting unique moments in time in our city’s history...and you could be included! The first mural to be painted will showcase our local youth participating in the annual Skating Races, capturing the action in the present day.
